Porta Potty Rental FAQ for Willits and Mendocino County

Straight answers to the questions renters ask before they book: delivery, pricing, cleaning, placement, events and policies.

Booking and delivery

How soon can you deliver a porta potty?

Same day when you call by 12 PM for most of Mendocino County. Orders after noon are usually delivered the next morning.

Do you deliver on weekends?

Saturday deliveries are limited and Sunday is closed. Weekend events get a Friday drop-off and Monday pickup at no extra cost.

Can I choose a delivery time?

We give a delivery window, usually morning or afternoon. A specific hour is possible for restroom trailers and large events when booked ahead.

Do I need to be home for delivery?

Nobody needs to be home if the spot is marked and the gate is open or the code is on the order. Text us a photo of the spot with an arrow.

How much notice do you need if I am not in a rush?

Two to three days is plenty for standard units on weekdays. Give 1 to 2 weeks for summer weekends and 2 to 4 months for wedding trailers.

Can I place an order now and pay later?

A card is placed on file when you book and charged on delivery. Contractor accounts are invoiced.

Can I get the quote in writing for a purchase order?

We email or text a written, itemized quote with the company name, site address and PO number on request.

Who do I list as the delivery contact?

List the person who will be on site and one backup. The driver calls the first contact if the spot is unclear.

Pricing and billing

What is included in the rental price?

The unit, toilet paper, hand sanitizer, deodorizer, and, on 28-day rentals, weekly service. Delivery, pickup and tax are separate lines on the quote.

Is there a weekly rate?

Rentals of 4 to 13 days are priced weekly. From 14 days on, the 28-day rate is usually the better deal.

Do extra days on a weekend rental cost more?

Event pricing covers up to 3 days on site, so the Friday-to-Monday schedule costs nothing extra.

Does the rental start on the day of drop-off?

The rental period starts on the delivery day and ends on the pickup day.

Do you add a fuel surcharge?

No fuel surcharge is added. Distance is built into the delivery line on the quote.

Do you charge sales tax?

California sales tax applies to the taxable lines of the rental. The quote shows tax so the total is the final amount.

Do you charge for damage?

Normal wear is on us. Fire, vandalism, graffiti, or a unit tipped by a vehicle or misuse is billed at repair or replacement cost.

Do you offer discounts for multiple units?

Each added unit at the same address costs less to deliver than the first, and 3 or more monthly units qualify for account pricing.

Units and features

What is the difference between a regular and a construction porta potty?

The unit is the same. Construction rentals add weekly service, 28-day billing and, under Cal/OSHA §1527, a washing station for every 20 workers; event rentals are delivered clean for a short stay.

Do porta potties come with hand sanitizer?

Every standard unit has a hand-sanitizer dispenser that is refilled on each service.

Do the units have a urinal?

Standard units have a urinal and a toilet. Accessible units and flushing cabins have a toilet only.

Do you have porta potties for women only events?

Any unit can be used; for mostly female crowds, add one unit and ask for units without urinals.

Are the units heated in winter?

Standard units are not heated. Restroom trailers have heat. In freezing weeks we add a salt solution to standard tanks so they do not freeze.

Can I get a porta potty with a light?

Restroom trailers and flushing cabins have lights. For standard units, ask for a battery tap light at no charge.

Do you rent handicap porta potties?

We rent wheelchair-accessible units with a step-free floor, grab bars and a 60-inch turning circle inside.

Do you rent towable porta potties?

Trailer-mounted units your crew can hitch and move are available for road, fence and utility crews.

Cleaning and service

What happens during a service visit?

The driver pumps the waste tank, adds fresh deodorizer, scrubs the seat, urinal and walls, refills paper and sanitizer, and leaves a dated service tag.

Can I change the service day?

The weekly service day can be moved with 24 hours notice.

What if the unit gets full before service day?

Call or text and we schedule an extra service, usually the same or next day. If it fills every week, a second unit or twice-weekly service is cheaper over time.

Is there an extra charge for cleaning on an event rental?

Event rentals arrive clean and leave with us; no cleaning fee is added. A mid-event service visit is billed only if you ask for one.

Do you service porta potties we already own?

We service only units we rent. Owners of their own units should call a licensed septic pumper.

Do you pump RV tanks or home septic tanks?

We do not pump RV holding tanks or home septic tanks. A licensed Mendocino County septic pumper handles those.

Placement and site

How close does the truck need to get?

The truck must park within about 25 feet of the unit on firm ground. A longer carry adds labor and may not be possible on slopes.

Can the porta potty go in my backyard?

A backyard works if there is a 48-inch-wide gate and a level path. Wider units and trailers need truck access.

Can the unit go on grass, gravel or dirt?

Grass, gravel and dirt all work when the ground is firm and level. After heavy rain, gravel or a sheet of plywood keeps the unit upright.

Can a porta potty be placed on the street?

A street or sidewalk placement needs an encroachment permit from the city or county that owns the road. Your own driveway needs none.

What if my site is up a steep dirt road?

Text us a photo or video of the road. If the truck cannot make it, we find the closest safe drop point or use a towable unit.

Can I move the porta potty myself?

Please do not move a unit with waste in the tank; it can spill and tip. Call us and the driver moves it on the next service.

Will the unit blow over in the wind?

Units on exposed coastal or ridge sites are staked or strapped at delivery. Tell us if your site gets strong wind.

Events

Do you rent porta potties for birthday parties?

Birthday parties are one of the most common event rentals. One standard unit covers up to 50 guests for a 4-hour party.

Do you rent porta potties for graduation parties?

Graduation parties book quickly in late May and June. Reserve 1 to 2 weeks ahead.

Can I rent for a funeral or memorial gathering?

We deliver for memorial gatherings and celebrations of life on short notice. Call and we will handle the details quietly.

Do you supply units for festivals and fairs?

Festivals and fairs get a service plan, multiple accessible units, hand-wash stations and on-site servicing between days.

Should I get a separate unit for the caterer?

A separate staff unit near the kitchen tent keeps caterers from crossing the guest area and is a good idea for events over 100 guests.

Waste, hygiene and odor

Do porta potties smell?

A serviced porta potty has little odor. Each service adds a fresh deodorizer charge, the roof vent pulls air out, and keeping the door closed and the unit in shade cuts smell further. Odor rises when a tank is close to full, which is why busy units get extra service.

Where does the waste go after you pump a unit?

Waste pumped from our units is hauled in a sealed service truck to a permitted wastewater treatment facility for disposal. Nothing is dumped on site or into a home septic system.

Are porta potties sanitary?

A porta potty is sanitary when it is serviced on schedule. Every service scrubs the seat, walls and urinal, and restocks hand sanitizer and paper. For food events and crews, add a hand-wash station with soap and water.

How do I end the rental?
